Baby Steps ! Baby Steps ! Baby Steps !

It has been quite some time since my last post.  I have been making baby steps toward cleaning my house out so that I can sell it.  For weeks I would look at the "stuff" and simply be overwelmed.  Sometimes when I don't know what to do....I do nothing.  Not a good thing when you want to sell the house and move.  I needed help.  Not necessarily someone to do it for me....but someone to help keep me focused and encourage me to "let go" of stuff.  Most people say that they can't go through my stuff, that I have to be the one to go through it.  They didn't understand that I didn't want them to go through it.  Just be my support system.   My friend Kim has come over the past few Saturday's and has helped me. Just being here has helped me more than she will ever know.  Occassionally, I will look at something and she must be reading my mind because she'll either ask me when was the last time I used it or she will just simply say to get rid of it.  This weekend she had plans to go out of town with her daughter, so I was on my own.  I am proud to say that I did go through some boxes on my own.  Boxes of old tax papers and receipts for all kinds of things from many years back.  I don't know why I kept all that stuff, I've never needed it.  I sorted papers and some went into the garbage and some went into the burn box.  I don't have a shredder so I keep a box in the laundry room of papers I need to burn, so whenever I have a fire in my outside fireplace or the burn pit I put some papers in it to burn.  In fact, the burn box is becoming the burn box(es), so I need to burn them soon as they are stacking up with all this sorting I've been doing.

I have a neighbor down the street that was looking to make a little extra money so he offered to mow the yard.  I took the opportunity to see if he could do some of the other outdoor things in the yard to make the house and yard look better.  Curb appeal is what I am thinking.  I'm having him paint(stain) the front porch white.  Yesterday he put one coat on it.  The gallon of stain was quickly slurped up by the thirsty porch.  Today I went back to Lowe's and bought 2 more gallons.  It definately needs another coat and I also want the mail box post and the martin house post painted as well and I'm sure I will find some other things to paint with the paint.  Makes me think of when I was a little girl and my Mom would paint the porch, she'd paint everything else she could think of with the same color to use up the paint.  We had a green porch, mailbox, porch swing, porch swing frame, picnic table etc...  :)   I am also having him replace some of the rotted fence posts in the back yard that need replacing as well as rake and mulch up some leaves that are on the ground.

I have seen such progress since I started this cleaning out process, but it just isn't happening fast enough for my liking.  At least it is moving along and not  standing still though.   Baby steps !  Baby steps !  Baby steps !

Ahhhh....Where to begin ?

Ahhhh....Where to begin ? I am wondering how to form the thoughts into words and have them make as much sense here for you to read as it does inside my head  Well... they say to write what you know.  So that's what I'll do.  One thing I know for sure....is that I want to live the lifestyle of living full-time in an RV.  I want to experience seeing and living in different areas of this beautiful country . Not to mention all the different people I will meet along my journey.

For years I have had a dream of full-time Rving.  "How does one go about this?" I asked my self.  I had talked and talked about wanting to do this one day, but I had no actual plan in place to make it happen.

By reading ths blog you will experience the journey right along with me.  If you are considering walking this same path, then hopefully we can learn together.
